Dr. Kurt M. Dubowski

To recognize individuals who have made outstanding career long contributions consistent with the ideals and achievements of University of Oklahoma George Lynn Cross Distinguished Professor of Medicine Dr. Kurt M. Dubowski. These contributions will be in the area of chemical testing in relation to transportation or workplace safety.

Sponsored by the International Association for Chemical Testing and endowed through the generosity of Dr. Kurt M. Dubowski in memory of his esteemed friend and colleague Professor Robert F. Borkenstein.

QUALIFICATIONS
Persons nominated must, through a minimum of twenty years of active service in the field of alcohol/drugs and workplace or transportation safety, have contributed to that field to a degree that their achievements have been recognized nationally or internationally. A minimum of ten years of active and productive involvement as a member of the International Association for Chemical Testing must be shown. Career contributions will have been in one or more of the following areas: (1) alcohol/drug education; (2) legal matters, including prosecution, defense, adjudication, or research of alcohol/drug -related cases; (3) human factors -- the involvement in scientific research and studies of alcohol/drugs and the medical/physiological/psychological aspects of alcohol/drugs and workplace or transportation safety; (4) technology -toxicological procedures involving alcohol/drugs and development and evaluation of techniques; and (5) action programs -- law enforcement, legislation, public information, intervention efforts, and other factors related to alcohol/drugs and transportation or workplace safety.

RULES
Nominations must be submitted to the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc. through its Board of Directors by July 1 for consideration of presentation at the following year's annual meeting. Each nomination received will be reviewed for appropriateness and qualifications of the nominee. Nominations must be made on the appropriate form available from the IACT, Inc. Board of Directors. Not more than one award may be granted in any single year; but awards need not be granted each year.

APPROVAL
The Board of Directors shall make final determination of award recipients.

PRESENTATION
The award recipient will be recognized at the annual meeting of the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc., or an affair attendant to such annual meeting, or other time deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors. The award recipient shall not be required to give a professional presentation or perform any other service at the time of the presentation of the award.

PUBLICITY
Publicity for the award will be provided by the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc. Publication Committee.

AWARD
The award shall consist of a plaque with appropriate inscription denoting the career long achievements and a monetary prize from the award's endowment fund, approved by the Treasurer, and ratified by the Board of Directors.
